General discussion • Details about raspberry pi warranty claim process

I have sent my pi5 back to the seller with the help of some threatening and the people from raspberry pi. The details about how the warranty claim is processed is not clearly mentioned or discussed. I understand it is a limited warranty against defects in manufacturing. But how does the seller assesses the warranty claim?

My case was the pi5 stopped booting one fine morning. (librelec, official accessories used bought from the same seller)

In my case I was told that the pi has to be sent back to the UK and was later changed to " we have software to check the pi but still will take 20-25 days". It is at times like these I wish i was able to move to countries where the laws are clear and defined.

The sad part here is the person who wrote to me on email from the raspberrypi told me raspberrypi cant do much as the product was not bought from raspberry pi directly!

Im from India and the only reason I bought the pi from this seller was because it was listed as pi authorised seller. So am I entirely
left to the grace of the reseller? Whom I am sure would find special ways to screw me over.

I hope this thread throw some light on the warranty claim process and the time duration. So that it helps
someone like me looking for answers in the future.
