All of this makes me curious why the Pi doesn't just come with interfaces to support the same type of hardware. It would add soo much value. I mean 1080p touchscreens for the Pi would literally be 10 times cheaper then.
Cost (to develop and to produce), demand (likely low), complexity (bootloader needs to support arbitary RAM timings, support arbitary video interfaces, and screen initialisation) and board space (where are you going to put the extra connectors and PCB traces).
Plus everyone would be paying for those features whether they want them or not.
Oh, and 16GB RAM isn't much use if the SoC can't address it.
