General discussion • Safely turn off Raspberry Pi 4 Model B whilst not attached to a monitor

Hi all,

I am currently planning to buy a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, Waveshare UPS module 3S as power source and Waveshare Servo HAT to run the servos.

The idea is to set up the Raspberry with a simple program to run the servos in a predetermined manner with a simple press of a button without any monitor sticking onto the computer.

I will be using a rocker Switch to turn power on and off from Waveshare UPS to Raspberry and a LED latching button to run and stop the servo script in the Raspberry.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the Raspberry does take time to boot up once the power is on, so I have an idea to set the LED button to blink once the Raspberry has been properly booted up. The LED button is then pressed to run the program and pressed again to stop the program, pressing the button runs the program again.

My question now is how to safely power off the Raspberry. Should I add another switch for safely turn off Raspberry?
