Hello. I'm new here.
I've been an IBM mainframe systems programmer for most of my working life (almost 40yrs now). Always been interested in IT. Consider myself a 'power user' of Windoze (mostly because every job role I've done needed a Windoze PC to connect to the mainframe and also for all the other stuff that I had to do (spreadsheets, slidedecks, documentation, etc). I dabbled with Linux on IBM z (SLES and RHEL) a while back but never really did much with it.
I've been interested in the Pi for a while but never got round to getting myself one, until I recently decided to treat myself to the Pi 500 Desktop kit. So far I'm just finding my way around it, mostly using the desktop GUI to work my way around files and folders, how to start customising my desktop, amd I've installed a couple of packages (like LibreOffice an ReginaREXX). But thats about it.
I joined this forum so I could ask some questions as I embark on my enPiification (and enLinuxification), and hopefully as my knowledge and experience grows, to contribute to discussions as well.
Cheers
