General discussion • Raspberry Pi 4 won't wake up

It seems there have been a few posts about Pis not waking up from sleep, but I think my experience is slightly different.

I'm running Raspberry Pi 4 with following:
Static hostname: raspberrypi
Icon name: computer
Machine ID: 98d94dce610d41c1819daabc6237bd66
Boot ID: 6facab495a7f4c2aac8a05e4290fcb93
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Kernel: Linux 6.6.74+rpt-rpi-v8
Architecture: arm64

I've only installed Tailscale, so running it as a VPN server. The only other mod I made was to add the "Lock" option to the GUI menu. This is my first Pi, but I have a little XP with Linux Mint.

When I Lock the screen and come back relatively soon, it wakes straight to the login screen, no problem.

If I leave it for longer, like overnight, when I come back it responds providing a black screen and the mouse and keyboard are active - keyboard lights up and mouse moves the cursor. Login screen will not appear. If I right-click with the mouse, I get a menu with options to "Reconfigure" or "Exit". I can select either, but then nothing happens.

The VPN still works as devices still show it as connected. But to get access to the desktop or CLI I have to power-cycle it.

Thank you!
