I imagined some various kinds of Pi6 hypothetical boards. Please take a pause and don't think too much about what you want, instead
just enjoy the moment, relax, and see if there is something that you like...
Black, or White
So here are my proposals, for some variety, some illusion of choice, if we could be granted of course at least three for each life of course.
We would not waste it here. But presume you are a CAT and have nine lives...
Pi 6 Ai version, Ai accelerator, Native nvme, 3x hdmi, 4x Pcie... LAN integration for Moodleberry Edu projects etc l
Pi 6 Audio/Midi version, but for Musicians, Midi I/O, Audio I/O, 1 hdmi, 1 Pcie, HATs Nvme,
Pi 6 NAS version, half the cpu,4x USb-C, bluetooth, Wifi, 2 hdmi, 1 Pcie, but Native Nvme, built for NAS,
Pi 6 iGPU version, ultrapowerful for gaming, streaming, 3x USb-C, etc, normal GPIO for HAts.
Pi 6 Retro Pro. OctaCore, double the power, 2X CPU, one for Rp1 operation, and another for retrocompatibility but new CPU.
Pi 6 Other, please specify. (Like something short please)
For example in other it could be...
Raspberry Pi 6 ST - Atari special version is a fantasy Pi6, aimed at Music enthusiast.
The Atari St, as the early Macs, were very special, both had HARDWARE MIDI I/O, plus AUDIO I/O.
With Real time Kernel, like Zynthian OS, or Patchbox OS, that can be used as a Guitar FX for your TE microblock Synth, or Korg Monotron, PO Ko 33, Volca Modular!! Just a fun little box, that even a Viola player could see some value in it, record live his performance and loop it...
And Midi Sync the external reverb or delay Korg NTS-3 Kaos pad... what dream... no hassles... no need to learn how to install linux drivers...
just plug and play... too long...
A Save the World Pi6 with Micheal Jackson Jingle each time booting up your bank account detracts 1$ for African children programs.
A Pi6 with firecracker automation instead of the GPIO, that can be used for new years EVE drone signatures but only uses Hp cartridges.
A Pi6 with self-determination that can tell you he's fed up with you and from now on You're on your own. G-Bye. Call me Loretta from now on.
Or...
Idk, there is pool, so cast your vote. Keep in mind the "user demands" and "industry standards" are two completely separate things and should never dictate a product line and this is not to be taken seriously.
Korg, Arturia, and othe Audio manufacturers are producing Usb Audio-Midi controllers with
Usb to Midi, Midi-cv, and plenty of jacks... (I'm taking a little freedom here, It's just a general thought about the world of Usb Midi)
Bitwig released a splendid Usb Sound card with plenty of Cvs, a Universal Controller Encoder, but not all of them have Usb class compliant drivers, Korg drivers are notorious to be abandonware the moment they are out. DONT UPGRADE YOUR OS if you use KORG OR ROLAND Usb Audio equipment!!! Some of these Usb-Audio-Midi devices are USb-compliant and will work with Linux, and with your Raspberry too hopefully.
But it's time and time again true that you will find yourself struggling to connect your hardware for making music, and before Usb was a thing,
MIDI existed and it never changed... It's the only good old friend that you can trust, it will never abandon you.
So I would like to put it to votes... What is your Pi type amongst these proposed??? none??? All of them???
You have only one choice... Ah ah ah...
Or A Double CPU Pi like the Nintendo and Sony consoles that kept at least the previous generation hardware for retrocompatibility, and just
recently, thanks to emulation, didn't include the old CPU in the new console? (effectively breaking full retro-compatibilty for a lot of users)
Sony release various special versions of PS1,2,3 and 4, with extra hardware inside, complete retrocompatibilty.
The DS had the GBA advance CPU. It's full of example of immense success computers.
While no official details exist yet, here’s what industry trends and user demands suggest:
(This far too specific, the pool options are really more vague, abstract...this is an article example...
it could be literally anything... If mod asks I could remove this np).
Faster CPU & GPU
Likely Broadcom BCM28xx series SoC with Cortex-A78 or newer cores
Upgraded GPU with hardware acceleration for AI/ML and graphics-heavy tasks
Expanded RAM & Storage
32GB LPDDR5 RAM for advanced multitasking
eMMC or NVMe SSD support (native, instead of via PCIe adapter)
Wi-Fi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3 for ultra-fast wireless performance
2.5Gb Ethernet support for better network throughput
Additional PCIe lanes for NVMe storage, AI accelerators, and external GPUs
Lower heat output for better performance in compact enclosures
Built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE) support

PS: This is NOT a feature request thread, this is a Pool thread, to get a general idea of the sentiment of raspi forum users.
PPS: I'm an happy owner of a Pi model 5, and don'r want for people to start arguing that the Pi5 is bad or else.
In Eve online there's a saying. Don't fly what you can't afford to loose.... o7!!
