Howdy all,
Been a Raspberry Pi user for 4 or 5 years now, and ran into this strange issue.
I have 2 AMD systems and 2 RPI-4B systems, all running Debian Bookworm.
AMD' systems are 12.5 with Kernel": 6.1.0-18-amd64 x86_64
RPI's a 12.1 with Kernel: 6.1.21-v8+ aarch64
I'm guessing 12.1 is latest release for the RPI's.
So to the problem...
Here is the output of who from an AMD system:
root pts/0 2024-03-13 14:54 (192.168.0.100)
Here is output from an RPI system:
root pts/0 7205944946380205577 (192.168.0.100)
This is on both RPI's, so unlikely a corruption on the SD card.
From searching I found a couple things to look at, and neither helped.
One was to delete and recreate /run/utmp
Another was to check permissions and ownership.
They were different from the AMD systems, so I changed them to match.
Changed root : root to root : utmp
Changed rw - r - r to rw - rw -r
Rebooted after.
Another was to check for defunct processes
Nothing helped.
Anybody got any ideas ?
Not critical, since I'm the only user on all the systems and they are just a hobby for home use. But I don't like errors.
TIA
