General discussion • Rpi5 Power Problems

Hi, I have my Rpi5 since january 2024 but I have not been able to use it that so far. I bought one from Sparkfun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/23617) in order to have the board and the new Power Supply.

The main use I give to the Rpi5 is as multimedia center, so the problem I have seen is that sometimes when I connect a USB pendrive in the 3.0 port and in another port a wireless keyboard (like this one https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Keyboar ... 101&sr=8-3) one of them fails. Sometimes the drive don't load correctly or disconnects and in other cases the keyboard don't reacts to any input.

Today I found another problem too. I needed to use the ethernet port to connect to internet and I wanted to enable a hotspot with the Rpi5 (which I did). Everything was working fine, I only had connected a cable in the ethernet port and 1 USB-port for the keyboard. Then, I wanted to connect a USB-Drive (in NTFS format) but I was not mounted and even had problem rebooting because it was trying to mount the drive.

I'm not sure if this is an actual power problem, but in the Rpi4 sometimes using 2 USB-drives and the keyboard one of them failed to work, so I'm feeling this is a similar case. Sometimes with another USB-drive and without the keyboard connected it does not even mount it. The USB-drive I have used work fine in other machines.

Oh, I already deactivated in raspi-config the USB current limit.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks for your help
