General discussion • Irrigation Controller for Giant Pumpkins

Okay so I grow giant pumpkins and I’m looking for advice for an irrigation controller integrating raspberry pie.

I want to use a moisture sensor to take moisture ratings that controls a control valve to turn on the irrigation at a certain threshold and turn off at a certain threshold. What is the best way to do this as a newbie with raspberry pie. I’m okay in Python but definitely not great.
