RP1 even with that older PIO design should still be able to do GPIO PWM audio even better than the older Pi's?
Is it fast enough to do high bit SigmaDelta DAC?

but the RP1 now has dedicated silicon to do the same job
its just waiting on a driver to be written in linux

but also, the PIO is clocked at 200mhz, and could wiggle 2 pins according to an array of bits in ram at blazing speeds
but then you still have the software problem of generating that table of bits

from what the engineers have said, the audio_out block in the RP1 does everything the VPU was doing, but with hw instead of sw
so you just feed it 48khz audio, and your done?
